The person behind K9

Hi, I'm Tristan.

K9 is a one-person project, built by someone who thinks dogs are the best thing about being a person, and who wants it to feel that way when you use it.

I started K9 for a simple reason. My dogs have introduced me to more people, more places, and more good days than just about anything else in my life. A walk turns into a conversation. A park turns into a group of regulars. A dog makes the world feel a little less closed off.

I kept noticing that the tools we all use don't reflect that. Our feeds are noisy, the good stuff gets buried, and it's weirdly hard to just find other dog people near you. So I decided to build the thing I wished existed: a home that is all dogs, all the time, made to bring people together instead of keeping them scrolling alone.

What I'm actually trying to do

K9 is a place to share your dog, meet the ones nearby, plan real meetups, and find local people and businesses you can trust with the animal you love most. The point isn't clout or a bigger number next to your name. The point is that you and your dog end up with more friends and fewer lonely afternoons.

I'm building it deliberately and I'm building it myself, which means I read every message and I fix things fast. If something feels off, that is on me, and I want to hear about it.

A few things I believe

🐾

Community first

Everything is built to get you and your dog into the real world with other people, not to keep you staring at a screen.

Built by hand

K9 is made by one person, not a committee. I read every message and fix things fast, so when something feels off, you're talking to the person who can change it.

For the dogs

As K9 grows, a share of what it earns is meant to go back to dogs who need it. More on that in K9 for Good.

Come build it with me.

K9 is early, and the community shapes what it becomes. If you have an idea, a bug, or just want to say hi, my inbox is open.
